The Wordless Condition Prior to "I" (DVD)

On this Revelation-filled evening in October 2004, Avatar Adi Da not only answers His devotees’ questions (ranging from the capacity of discrimination to living a Divinely Purposed life), He also Addresses the chronic self-reference “I” in the patterns of speech. He points out that there is no actual experience of such a one, though Language and thought are built upon the illusion of a separate “self”. Adi Da contrasts this ego-based condition to the Wordless and Thoughtless State of the Divine.

In the chapter “Consciousness Does Not Think”, Adi Da makes the shocking, but amazingly precise as well as playful, analogy that “The body-mind is a parasite of a kind on the Conscious Light, making use of It, like you plug a lamp into the wall and make use of the electricity generated by the power company.
